another thing to note is that all new templates are now tested with both IE + firefox for compatability as well ;)

Well, I do not care on whatever validators output, but keeping the structure of at least a correct html file is not too hard really.

ok, maybe not hard, but i use a standard code import feature for them, and given it creates no problems at all, i wont spend time "cleaning code"

any further comments regarding the overall template code, please make a new thread so no further trashing of these templates occur ;)

cheers

Dear Mikey,

Last februari you made a great site-design for http://www.amdgkampen.nl/, thank you again for that.

Now here's another request, and a kind of silly one:

Would you please be so kind to make a template for http://www.hetkamperuienkoor.nl/?

It's the home of a dutch amateur choir, called "Het Kamper Uien Koor"?
They sing all kinds of old songs: traditionals, folk, shanty, etc.

[FYI some background info: Kampen is a city in the Netherlands. There are several funny, silly stories that are told by the local people since the early centuries. Because one of most popular of these stories tells about onions, these stories are traditionally called 'Kamper Uien' (Kamper Onions in English). The people in this choir are all from Kampen, and because they sing traditional songs, the choir is therefor called 'Het Kamper Uien Koor' (The Kamper Onion Choir in English)]

Problem is this: It's a new choir, and it doesn't have a logo yet. There is one on the main-site, but that one is just really ugly. There are also no people in this choir able to make a good logo.
They have an idea what it should be, so maybe you can make something of it.

Another popular story is one of a farmer hanging a cow on a tower in Kampen. Traditionally in Kampen every year a fake black-and-white cow is hung to the New Tower in Kampen.

So the choir would like the logo to be a abstract but recognizable line-drawing of the top of the New Tower (pictures below), with the cow hanging there (see small bottom picture), combined with a line-drawing of two medium sized onions and the text 'Het Kamper Uien Koor' in it.

More information:

Title: Het Kamper Uien Koor
Colors: White background (maybe a background watermark pattern with music notes?), Orange (onion colors) and a touch of Blue.

Because it's a Dutch site, mainly visited by Dutch viewers, it has to be translated:

Translations:

Navigation = Navigatie
Welcome = Welkom (links to main site)
Guestbook = Gastenboek
Contact Us = Contact

Bottom of the page translation:

English: Copyright 2005 | 'Het Kamper Uienkoor' by Arjan Lindeboom | Powered by CMSimple.dk | Design by DCWD
Dutch: Copyright 2005 | 'Het Kamper Uienkoor' door Arjan Lindeboom | Powered by CMSimple.dk | Ontwerp door DCWD

* Arjan Lindeboom links to http://www.arjan.org/
* Powered by CMSimple.dk links to http://www.cmsimple.dk/
* Ontwerp door DCWD links to your homepage

The bottom of the page is in that way similar as that of www.amdgkampen.nl.

The navigation menu to the left would be great if you could manage to place a tiny picture of an onion before every item... Is this possible?

Personally I really like the 800x600 sized layout, you also used for the template that I use now for my site, but that's up to you off course.

If you want to do this: The choir and myself want to thank you very, very much for your help!

Hi Mickey,

on 06.06.2006 we will give a great party called "Sechs-Party" a german pun with "Sex-Party". If you'll have the time to make a cool template with a lot of sixes and "six/sex related" things like sixpacks (muscles and/or beer) etc. that would be great!

hope this is to your liking - there is both DHTML + standard nav system - to remove DHTML, just edit it from template.htm (remove)
