i will be no longer able to fullfill any more free design requests from here on , it has been a fun few years though. :)

you can still post a request in this thread, as there are a few other template designers as well that may spare time to fullfill the request.

i will however still be adding them on my site

should any one need a cmsimple design, you are free to contact me via my website, www.dotcomwebdesign.com or via the PM system here to obtain a quote for a unique design or conversion of your existing standard html site design.

cheers
mikey

Hi Mikey

I really like you templates :!:

I've got loads of ideas  and I'm sure that some of them can be used by others.

Please read your PM

Please keep up the good work - :D

You have a fantastic group of templates- I always enjoy your postings.
Are you really looking for a challenge?

A series of templates based on the work of known artists, a Charles Rene Macintosh theme. Jugendstil. Art Nouveau. Degas. Early Monet, later Monet,Turner Larssen.

But more challenging is this scenario, sites available for a school. I have done one for an English Primary school see
http://cgi.frindsbury.force9.co.uk/?Welcome
Primary schools usually have a school badge and a school colour, there must be other ways to do this. The school really needs to take a template- select a colour theme (may be a purple css) and leave the jpg of their badge next to top.jpg.

An English secondary school is even more challenging as I see it will be a root level site and linking to other cmsimples say in root/maths root/humanities root/languages root/ict root/science root/art root/sport. Secondary schools will also have a school colour and a badge.

I will be publishing an article in a UK academic journal about CMSimple, so I am sure there will be a lot of interest.

hi clem,

this is indeed a geat idea,

im wondering how this could be done,

would it be ,say, 1 folder on a host, containing multiple installs of cmsimple, each for a different department, there being a totally separate site in their own right?

this would allow a department a template for each, allowing also totally different layouts and css as wlel as different logins for each

linking between the sites could be some hard coded links placed anywhere on each site?

sorry if this is the hard way, im really not that great at the actual php ;)

Exactly.

Each sub template needs a hardcoded link on the template to return to main site.

The main site has a H1 page called Departments which in itself will have the links to each subsite- pure <a ref links.

Someone with UNIX skills may be able to explain how a subsite may be tricked into using the parent sites template folder.

Mikey- are you UK based-so understand the UK school system with its administrative intricacies, or based in EU, Canada or US?

Hi Mikey,

I have actually spent a little time thinking about template suggestions.

However, I am already using one of your templates on http://www.mortenn.dk and I am quite happy with it :D . Furthermore, I don't have a clue as to what I would like better, and I would definately not be able to describe it in words, so I'll just stick with the current one.

BTW, do you have any idea how many websites are using your templates? Im just being curious.

/Morten

How about a camera related theme for the photographers amongst us?

Hi.

I also appreciate your templates.

There are many youth sports organizations that would love to use CMSimple but most of them have volunteers that maintain websites. Many - indeed most of those volunteers don't have the technical skill to effect major modifications to themes and templates. This lack of technical skill is part of what makes CMSimple such a great choice for them.

A set of templates for this community would be an excellent boost to the wider use of CMSimple.

Templates for American football, soccer (as we call it), baseball, basketball, wrestling, etc. would be big hits.

I would be happy to collaborate with you on creating some of these if you'd like. I can supply images, etc.

Thanks again for all you do to support the CMSimple community.

Joe

My greatest wish is to have a CSS based template with a working horizontal (submenus too) navigation.

What do you think about it?

thanks morten,

btw , i do like your site, i was pleased with how that template turned out oo.

a good way to find a sites link popularity is with a tool like the one below. it will show you some major search engines and how many pages contain a link to your site. at the moment, mine comes up with 494 links....it would have been a heap more, except i have only recently been coding my link in the templates ;)

Link Pop Checker

hi phoenix,

this is something i have dabbled with already, tho never published it.

my main problem was ,what images to use in order to make it as generic as possible.

i found some great hi rez stock photos of some canon cameras and lenses, and then thought, what is someone only used a sony camera ;)

if you could throw some ideas for images etc to make it a generic template, then ill give that one a go

cheers

hi jrwebb

sports related templates are another great idea. i had a go at a golf template, it turned out quite ok and seemed to capture the golf theme pretty well.

the possabilities are endless with this idea and would be happy to collaborate on a few ideas with you.

if you could PM me with some details on having a go at one, your choice of sport ;)
